A lamp ballast provides transformer to equalize the voltage amounts in fluorescent lighting. Filaments at the end of the lamp call for a low voltage to show on the light, while a larger voltage that runs from end to terminate in the bulb must keep the lamp running.
Purpose from these lamps have differing voltages, a ballast has to transform the voltages to the appropriate requirements. The ballast also suppresses today's and keeps the lamp from receiving a lot of voltage and failing.
Fluorescent lamp Requirements a ballast can be used for a lamp with a couple bulbs. Lamps with four bulbs usually require two ballasts. Ballasts must match the lamp's wattage, length and diameter.
A magnetic ballast transforms the voltage within a lamp using magnetic fields. It uses coiled wire and will not change the frequency in the voltage on the lamp;An electronic ballast does modify the frequency of capacity to the lamp, which can cause less flicker when turning on the lamp. It uses solid-state components to improve voltage and doing so is often more efficient and cooler than the magnetic ballast.
